Community dining.
It is always a good night when you can meet and greet with some of the friendly people from your community. More so when a hot dinner is supplied free of charge.
Good company and good food. What more could you ask for.
The Community B.B.Q is a locally run event. It is held every Wednesday at Newman Square in Numurkah by a group of at least 30 volunteers. Each week 2 of the volunteers arrive with a BBQ supplied by the Numurkah Rotary Club, meat from Meat on Melville and rolls supplied by some of the local bakeries. During the winter, soup is supplied by the Shepparton Hospital.
The event is overseen by Sharon, who is more than happy to help out and be involved with the locals. Sharon is part of the People Supporting People group. They are a community support group based in Shepparton.
The event starts at 5 pm and runs for an hour. They are hoping to see more support from the community and hope also to see more people coming for a hamburger and sausage.
